1. Design and production

According to the color box brushing plan, copywriting, design, layout planning, etc. are the pre production procedures for the finished manuscript. At the same time, photography and illustration drawing should be arranged, and coordination with various cooperating manufacturers should be made to arrange the production schedule, so as to concretize various elements.

2. Binding and processing operations

Brochures, catalogs, booklets, etc., commonly known as DM, are the last step in the process of color box printing, which is the binding process. Generally, single sheet flat printing is most commonly used for cutting, creasing, folding, etc. As for binding, it depends on the number of pages, type of paper, exquisite quality, usage style, and purpose.

3. Produce the final draft

Based on the initial draft of the layout plan, arrange the copy, photos, illustrations, correct positions, and correct color markings in a sequential manner on the final paper or process the complete manuscript in electronic format, and clearly indicate the special requirements for plate making. This is the prerequisite for plate making.

4. Color box printing plan

Color box printing planning is aimed at matching the theme of the design. It requires careful consideration of the printing method, layout size, subject matter of the printed product, paper or color count, and even the selection of relevant processing manufacturers in order to smoothly launch each production process and complete a beautiful finished product.

5. Production output and plate making operations

After the completion of the final draft and entering the plate making process, the images are scanned and separated by an electronic color separation machine, and the text and lines are photographed with a black and white camera. The correct number of passes through the screen is punched out, and the text, illustrations, etc. are assembled according to the instructions on the final draft. Then, the printing operation is carried out, and a color sample is printed and sent back to the designer for proofreading. If the electronic draft is processed, it needs to be submitted to the output center for output of the film. It is necessary to fill in the output work order or instruction form in detail, clearly indicate the number of lines to be output, the number of pages in color and monochrome, whether there are any words and specifications, etc., to avoid communication errors and unnecessary losses.

6. Proofreading homework

This is the final step before printing, which is to check whether the color sample conforms to the procedures indicated on the final draft. When correcting colors and other corrections, be sure to write specific and easy to understand text instructions or position outlines in red pen, and correctly convey them to the plate making personnel to avoid unnecessary losses.

7. Printing homework

Convert the corrected four-color mesh into a printing plate, send it to the printing machine, and begin formal printing. If you want to obtain the ideal printed product on a color box printing machine, you first need to understand the printing factors. Due to the many variable factors that have a significant impact on printing quality, it is necessary to have a certain and sufficient understanding of these factors.
